Who We Are

The Building Management Company was founded in 2008 as a full-service, vertically integrated development, construction, and management company. As BMC grew and evolved it established BMC Property Management as a stand-alone entity in 2017. BMC PM is one of the area’s most unique property management firms with over 50 properties and approximately 250,000 square feet under management. Our portfolio includes an assortment of commercial, mixed-use, industrial, and residential properties. We steward single-family units, student apartments, medical and legal offices, along with retail and restaurant spaces. We are also proud to be the facilities manager for the historic Paramount Theater on the Downtown Mall. The success of BMC PM is built on three core values – honesty, consistency, and responsiveness. On this strong foundation, we create long-lasting relationships with our tenants, owners, and vendors.

JASON NESS

Chief Operating Officer

Jason Ness comes to BMC after working as the City of Charlottesville's Business Development Manager in the Office of Economic Development for nine years. Prior to his position in the Office of Economic Development, Jason was employed by Offender Aid and Restoration as the Reentry Program Manager and, before that, served as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the US Army. Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with his family on sports fields, in canoes and kayaks and watching Crimson Tide football games.

CARMEN TRIMBLE

Financial Controller

With degrees in archaeology and environmental science and thirty-plus years as a small business owner, Carmen uses her analytical skills and expertise to execute all accounting functions for the company. Carmen enjoys spending time with her family, camping, exploring the countryside, restoring antique vehicles, sewing, and researching Bigfoot.

TRU ANDERSON

Maintenance and Grounds Technician

Tru Anderson joined the BMC PM staff in early 2022. He is responsible for all maintaining the grounds and exterior upkeep at BMC’s numerous properties. Tru also responds to tenant issues and provides lightning-fast service repairs. Tru, born and raised near Bremo Bluff, enjoys meeting new people and spending time with his dogs outside of work

MEGAN GARVIN

Residential Property Manager

Megan Garvin attended Auburn University where she studied Communications and Family Studies. Her passion for people led to a 14-year career in hospitality before she joined the BMC team in 2022. She loves the fast-paced environment that surrounds the property management industry but loves to wind down on the weekends with gardening, hiking and winery hopping with family, friends.

SARAH HOSTETLER

Residential Property Manager

Sarah joined the BMC team earlier in 2023, with 15+ years of experience in bookkeeping / office administration. Outside of BMC, Sarah enjoys spending time with her 2 kids, kayaking, sightseeing excursions, and running.

BLAKE SHIFFLETT

Facilities Manager

Blake is a hands-on leader with a passion for both precision and nature. When not overseeing the smooth operation of our properties, you'll find him bird watching in the early morning hours or tinkering with two-cylinder engines in his workshop. His deep appreciation for mechanical systems is matched only by the time he cherishes with his family. Whether he's solving a maintenance challenge or spotting a rare warbler, he brings dedication, curiosity, and heart to everything he does.

ANTOINE CHAMBERS

Facilities Technician

Antoine is a master of all trades and a cornerstone of our facilities team. With a deep skillset spanning electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems, Antoine brings precision and reliability to every task he tackles. Outside of work, he’s a devoted father who treasures time with his daughter, an avid open sea fisherman, and a passionate researcher of football helmet evolution—driven by his lifelong love for the gridiron. Whether he's solving a complex maintenance issue or diving into the history of sports safety, Antoine approaches everything with curiosity, craftsmanship, and heart.

CARA PARHAM

Rockstar Accounting Associate

Cara Parham is our rockstar Accounting Associate whose passion and precision keep everything running smoothly. Outside of work, Cara finds joy in spending quality time with her family and kids, nurturing her garden, and exploring the cosmos. A dedicated amateur astronomer, she’s traveled far and wide to witness eclipses in breathtaking locations. Her curiosity and warmth make her an invaluable part of our team.
