Who We Are

The Building Management Company was founded in 2008 as a full-service, vertically integrated development, construction, and management company. As BMC grew and evolved it established BMC Property Management as a stand-alone entity in 2017. BMC PM is one of the area’s most unique property management firms with over 50 properties and approximately 250,000 square feet under management. Our portfolio includes an assortment of commercial, mixed-use, industrial, and residential properties. We steward single-family units, student apartments, medical and legal offices, along with retail and restaurant spaces. We are also proud to be the facilities manager for the historic Paramount Theater on the Downtown Mall. The success of BMC PM is built on three core values – honesty, consistency, and responsiveness. On this strong foundation, we create long-lasting relationships with our tenants, owners, and vendors.

JASON NESS

JASON NESS

Director of Operations

Jason Ness comes to BMC after working as the City of Charlottesville's Business Development Manager in the Office of Economic Development for nine years. Prior to his position in the Office of Economic Development, Jason was employed by Offender Aid and Restoration as the Reentry Program Manager and, before that, served as a Non-Commissioned Officer in the US Army. Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with his family on sports fields, in canoes and kayaks and watching Crimson Tide football games.

CARMEN TRIMBLE

CARMEN TRIMBLE

Financial Controller

With degrees in archaeology and environmental science and thirty-plus years as a small business owner, Carmen uses her analytical skills and expertise to execute all accounting functions for the company. Carmen enjoys spending time with her family, camping, exploring the countryside, restoring antique vehicles, sewing, and researching Bigfoot.

Facilities Director

After graduating from Lynchburg College in 2010, John Tirrell moved to Colorado and worked as a ski instructor for the Aspen Skiing Company. He also started his career in facilities management in Aspen. John moved to Charlottesville in 2020. Outside of work, he loves to hang out with his wife and dogs.

TRU ANDERSON

TRU ANDERSON

Maintenance and Grounds Technician

Tru Anderson joined the BMC PM staff in early 2022. He is responsible for the all maintaining the grounds and exterior upkeep at BMC’s numerous properties. Tru also responds to tenant issues and provides lightning-fast service repairs. Born and raised near Bremo Bluff, outside of work Tru enjoys meeting new people and spending time with his dogs.

Residential Property Manager

Megan Garvin attended Auburn University where she studied Communications and Family Studies. Her passion for people led to a 14-year career in hospitality before she joined the BMC team in 2022. She loves the fast-paced environment that surrounds the property management industry but loves to wind down on the weekends with gardening, hiking and winery hopping with family, friends.

SARAH HOSTETLER

Administrative Coordinator

Sarah joined the BMC team earlier in 2023, with 15+ years of experience in bookkeeping / office administration. Outside of BMC, Sarah enjoys spending time with her 2 kids, kayaking, sightseeing excursions, and running.
